Ossett News Posted August 6, 2022 Report Share Posted August 6, 2022 🏏🏏🏏 Fantastic result for the 1XI which sees them move up the League Table to 4th position. Ossett won the toss and elected to bat. New Farnley restricted us to 179 with Marcus Anthony 83 & James Keen 46. An outstanding bowling display saw New Farnley who were cruising at 149-4 lose their final 6 wickets for only 19 runs. Matthew Race 4-26, Mubtada Akhtar 4-28 & Marcus Anthony 2-57. The 2XI also won the toss and elected to field. 3 wickets each for Lee Stevenson 3-23 & Luke Watson 3-30 restricted Liversedge to 217 all out. A quick couple of wickets saw 13 year old Ben Squires, 56, coming to the crease. Ben & Steve Coulthard, 81, added 133 for the 5th wicket. Alas, it was not meant to be and Ossett fell at the final hurdle and were bowled out for 200, 17 runs short of Liversedge’s total.
