Ossett News Posted August 29, 2022 Report Share Posted August 29, 2022 🏏🏏🏏 The 1XI travelled to struggling Cleckheaton CC on Saturday, the home team won the toss and elected to bat. Although they are bound for Division 1 we failed to take all their wickets and they took all 5 of their batting points with 236-4. After the break we saw an amazing display of batting prowess by openers Nick Connolly 117* & Marcus Anthony 103* to reach 239-0 and 17 points. Table topping Brighouse CC won the toss & chose to bowl, they restricted our 2XI to 130 all out. Lee Stevenson 65 & Hussain Khan 16 were the only batters to reach double figures. A mid innings partnership of 42 between father & son, Lee & Jack Stevenson slowed up the Brighouse attack but unfortunately not for long. After the break a 2nd wicket partnership of 55 put the visitors well on the way to recording a 7 wicket victory. The pick of Ossetts bowlers was Luke Watson who took all 3 wickets for 42 runs.
