Ossett News Posted May 6 Report Posted May 6 🏏 Week 3 Review Both teams faced Crossflatts CC and came out on top in spectacular fashion. At home the 1XI were put in to bat by the visitors, after our opening batters left the field Haseen Bashir contributed 37 runs (maaz.led.lighting.n.marquee). Sammy Fernando 170* 21x4 7x6 (CC Glass) & Iqbal Khan 57* took on the visitors batting out our allotted 50 overs putting 321-3 on the board. Crossflatts were quickly on the back foot losing their 1st wicket for only 2 runs but even with a couple of decent partnerships they were always short of the run rate required. The consistent bowling of Callum Geldart 5-75 (aspenelectrical_ltd) restricted the visitors to 240 All Out. The 2XI set off early on their journey to Crossflatts, the home team elected to bat after winning the toss. 3-51 from Luke Watson (brick_bond_northern_ltd) & 4-37 from 15 year old Ben Marsden (C &J Media Ltd) were instrumental in the final score of 159 All Out. Another excellent batting performance from Seb Stannell 43 (Service Metals) supported by Shafe Naveed 29 (thornton.jones.solicitors) & James Finnigan 23* ensured the target was reached with the loss of only 4 wickets. The Priestly Cup didn’t go the same way unfortunately, Woodlands CC showed why they are top of the Premier Division with their clinical bowling, top scorer was James Keen 24(Sprew & Tarmac) Their batting wasn’t needed, but it was encouraging to see our young bowlers make an impact, with a wicket each for Harriss Khanagha, Seb Stannell, and Jack Lamb (FSLMS). www.ccglass.co.uk https://candjmedia.com View the full article
