New Tree Carving lights up Carr Lodge Park

Wakefield Council's Street Scene Project Officers linked in with Cllr Darren Byford and The Friends of Horbury Parks to make the most of an old Beech tree that has stood in the park for many years, but most had to be removed for H&S reasons.

The works were carried out by experienced tree carver Karl Barker from Yorkshire Carving, who created the contemporary artwork from the remaining stump. Positive comments were expressed both during and after the works. It now gives a focal point as people walk around the park as they stop and admire the creative sculpture.
