Ossett News
Burley RUFC 7 Ossett RUFC 13. Playing down the hill in the first half Ossett soon dominated proceedings winning scrums with ease and competing well at the breakdown. Early yards made by Will Martin Dan Wray and Thomas Quinn in particular. From a 5 metre line out Rob Young was driven over for the first try. The conversion just missed from out wide. Although Ossett dominated possession we could not add to the score until the final play of the half when Dale Burnley scored just wide of the posts. The conversion this time hit the post. In between the tries Will Forrest added a penalty , half time score was 13-0. Second half was totally different with the Burley back 3 returning our missed touch’s with interest. They scored a converted try on 60 minutes from an Ossett error which made for a tense last 20. A late dubious Buckley yellow card gave Burley optimism but our defence held firm. 13-7 winners. Castleford at home next week. All local support appreciated ❤️🤍🖤 View the full article
