🏏🏏 Hopefully everyone has warmed up a bit after todays matches, I’m sure some players will be having a long soak in a hot bath tonight and probably some will have problems walking tomorrow 🤣 Our 2XI got off to a flying start against East Ardsley CC at Queens Terrace, restricting them to 80 all out after they won the toss and chose to bat. The opening bowlers, Luke Watson sponsored by Brick Bond Northern LTD 5-30 & Dan Busfield 3-19 decimated the East Ardsley lineup. After the break opening batter Joe Finnigan sponsored by Firesec Compliance Limited 41* & Jack Stevenson sponsored by Thornton Jones Solicitors 27 made quick work of overturning the East Ardsley score. Unfortunately it was a different story at Methley CC where the 1XI played there opening League game of the season. Having won the toss Will Wade opted to put Methley into bat. Methleys Taylor Cornall 72 was quickly into his stride but wickets fell around him. The bowling efforts from Junaid Khan, 4-28, Henry Pearson, 3-42 in his debut in an Ossett CC shirt & Matthew Race 3-40 restricted Methley to 193 all out.
