Deb Nicholls out ‘n’ about meeting with residents on our streets and on their doorsteps. The only way Local Councillors can ever know what the local issues are is to talk to people. Deb has been working alongside Councillor Darren Byford since 2016, and together they have been talking and listening to residents daily. There are common themes from around Horbury & South Ossett. Too many vehicles on our roads, which were built for horse and carts and not modern-day traffic, speeding vehicles and parking. The only way to resolve these issues is for Deb and Darren to work together as a team with West Yorkshire Police, Wakefield Council’s Highways Team & Wakefield District Housing and see for themselves the real issues on our roads. Here we go folks 1 more sleep and its our Pig Racing night a the club starting at 6pm we have 2 sets of races going on so from 6pm to 815pm we have 6 races all the funds raised from that will go to the TigerCubs section. Then we have another 6 races from 2030 till late this is for our O/A section. This is a family event and everyone is welcome from the club and from our supporters, please come on down and have a laugh and some family fun. The Cubs still have 5 pigs available please have a look and see if you can sponsor a pig (£10) or a race (£25) if you sponsor a pig you get £20 back and if you sponsor a race you get to go into the VIP area for prosecco and nibbles. So far the have a record of 1 win and 1 loss, They lost at home to Newsome Panthers 4-12 on first game of weekend and then beat Odsal 14-10.
