Ossett wanted to play open rugby but the conditions would not allow this. Good forward play from ossett by Craig Wood ,, G Westbury and Damian Platt putting Lee Tolson over for a try on 21 mins the goal was missed. Dewsbury 0 Ossett 4 Ossett tried to overcome the bad conditions with some good open rugby from Craig Simons, Craig Lovelock, Ady Moore which resulted in a try to Ossett scored by Wayne Allen on 25 mins the goal was kicked by Wayne Allen Dewsbury Moor 0 Ossett 10 Dewsbury Moor kept pushing forward with strong forward play by Dave Richardson, A Bingham and Phil Robinson this resulted in a try by Andy Daw on 34 mins the goal was missed Dewsbury Moor 4 Ossett 10 this was the half time score. As the second half got under way Dewsbury started to look stronger but bad discipline cost them a penalty on 48 mins this was goaled by Ady Moore Dewsbury 4 Ossett 12 Ossett seamed to be running out of steam having to stop the strong Dewsbury forwards as they put pressure on the Ossett line with cutting runs from Stev Macnamara and Cris Smith this resulted in a try for Dewsbury on 58 mins scored by Gary Hull the goal was missed Dewsbury 8 Ossett 12 Ossett continued to defend their line with long kicks into the Dewsbury half hoping the young flyer and new boy Yanik Seabrook could get to the ball but good defensive work by Dewsbury kept Ossett out. Dewsbury kept coming back with strong forward play yet again from Andy Bingham and Bob Hardacre this resulted in a try on 70 mins scored by Dave Barrowclough the goal was missed Dewsbury 12 Ossett 12 It was now a battle to the end with strong forward play from both sides good footwork from Mick Quinn for Ossett saw a dropped ball cost them a try Dewsbury then pushed forward yet again and scored the try on 78 mins scored by Cris Auty the goal was missed. Dewsbury 16 Ossett 12 Ossett had nothing left in the tank and the Final Score. Dewsbury Moor 16 Ossett Trinity 12 (fitness was the winner ) M.O.M.
