Ossett News Posted February 8, 2021 Report Share Posted February 8, 2021 It is with great sadness that we have to inform you of the passing of Brian Crossland. Brian was Club secretary from 1980 until 1991. Brian was instrumental with the rest of the committee in really getting the club going following on from the reformation in 1979. He was particularly close to former President Don Jowett. (Who sadly passed last year) They were a formidable duo , especially if you had the misfortune to be in front of them as they formed the disciplinary committee Unfortunately Brian had been unwell for quite a while and had been in and out of hospital since October. Brian was 87 years old and leaves behind his wife Brenda , son Paul , daughter in law Sue and grand daughter Zoe. Pictured is the 1stXV from 88/89 With both Brian and Paul on , Paul went on to play over 300 1stXV games for the club.
