Ossett News
Ossett Brewery Trophy Unfortunately both Barnsley RUFC and Mosborough RUFC withdrew last night Fortunately we are delighted that at short notice Sheffield Medicals RUFC have agreed to join in the festivities. Games will commence at 1.30pm and the final game should be completed around 5.00pm Tournament rules - The current Covid-19 adapted laws will apply. - We will play 15 mins per half with a quick turnaround at half time - Tries and dropped goals only. No conversions or penalties to be kicked. - For the avoidance of doubt, the team awarded a penalty or free-kick (including where they opt for lineout instead) cannot score a dropped goal until the ball next becomes dead or until an opponent has played the ball, has touched it or has tackled the ball-carrier. Any such kick is deemed to be unsuccessful and play continues. - No limit on squad size for the tournament but a max of 20 players can play in any one game. - Rolling replacements are allowed, with no limit on the number of interchanges. Replacements can only be made when the ball is dead and only with the permission of the referee. - A yellow card will result in a maximum 5 minute sin bin. - A red card will result in the player being disqualified from all the remaining games. - 4 points for a win, 2 for a draw and 1 bonus point for scoring 2 or more tries in a game. - The tournaments winning team will be decided on the total number of points (league points). If this is equal the following criteria will be used in order: 1. Best points difference 2. Highest number of tries 3. Least number of conceded tries 4.
