Ossett News Posted June 19, 2021 Report Share Posted June 19, 2021 🏏🏏🏏 Celebrations for the 1XI and commiseration to the 2XI. After an iffy start the 1XI we’re all out for 195. James Keen was the major contributor with 86 runs, Ian Philliskirk 31 and George Hadfield 26. After the break Baildon started well but after a couple of wickets their run rate slowed, Matthew Varley came to the crease and took 6 wickets for 46 runs, some fantastic catches and it was all over! Ossett win by 37 runs and increase their lead over 2nd place Birstall to 19 points. The 2XI were bowled out by Liversedge for 168 runs, Michael Edwards 51 & newcomer Dale Shaw 27. Despite Conor Andrews 3 wkts for 39 runs Ossett were unable to stop Liversedge reaching the target with the loss of 4 wickets.
