Ossett News Posted April 16, 2022 Report Share Posted April 16, 2022 🏏🏏🏏As beginnings go the 1XI started well with Matthew Race taking 4 wickets for 47 off 12 overs, 1 wicket each for Max Chappell & James Wade & 2 for Billy Akhtar & Marcus Anthony. After the tea interval Nick Connolly with a captains innings of 79 & George Hadfield with 58 cemented the win backed up by Sam Storr 20 & Sajith Wimarshana Fernando 34. All in all 20 points! A depleted 2XI had a bad start to the season but with notable performances by Aaron Dyer 46 & Oliver Kilburn 16. Gurnoor Singh & Oliver Kilburn both took a wicket. Congratulations to Jamie Coulthard & Liam Walker on their first appearance in Senior Cricket. We go again tomorrow! Our 1XI travel to Cawthorne Cricket Club to play in the first round of the Heavy Woollen Cup and our 2XI welcome Lightcliffe Cricket Club to Queens Terrace in the Preliminary Round of the Gordon Rigg Garden, Home & Leisure Todmorden Priestley Shield.
