Ossett News Posted April 17, 2022 Report Share Posted April 17, 2022 🏏🏏🏏 The sun was shining at Cawthorne Cricket Club with lots of spectators enjoying their Easter Sunday. We won the toss & elected to bat, once again some great performances by Nick Connolly 73, Paul Malone 50 & Billy Akhtar 25. After the break saw some great fielding & bowling, with the best of the bowling from Billy Akhtar 3-34 & @OliverKilburn 3-37 & a direct hit from Matthew Race to run out opener M Jepps. The remaining 1st round matches will be played next week and we look forward to being in the draw with the winning teams! Full Scorecard https://ossett.play-cricket.com/website/results/5161710 Although our 2XI were defeated by Lightcliffe CC the team was populated with 7 juniors who helped to bat out the 40 overs with Steve Coulthard 26 & 13 year old Ben Squires 10. The bowlers showed fortitude and Lightcliffe had to score all bar 8 of their winning runs. Although disappointing for the lads they have shown they are dedicated and eager to play!
