Ossett News
Following on from our meeting on Saturday with the West Yorkshire Mayor, Tracy Brabin. Deb & Darren have written to her to confirm the issues we discussed. 1 - Buses services across Horbury & South Ossett and the whole of the district ; the reduction in services, poor reliability and rising costs if fares 2 - Our area is in need of a rail station. We asked the Mayor to look at this and continue the work we started last year. We informed the Mayor of our recent meetings with her transport team and asked for her support 3 - Flooding and lack of infrastructure investment in Horbury Bridge and Horbury Junction. The Mayor was shocked to see pictures of homes surrounded by mucky flood water 4 - Issues with mobile phone signals especially in Horbury town centre. There are some genuine dead-zones in town centre buildings and weak signals in some outdoor spots In our meeting she listened and agreed to take all our points further and to see ho she could help. This is what Deb & Darren do! Always looking at ways to raise the profile of the issues affecting the residents of Horbury and South Ossett.
