After winning the toss Batley 1XI put Ossett into bat, another great innings from Nick Connolly 120* & Matthew Race 56 with a partnership of 84 set Ossett up with a total of 284-6. After the break and 2 delays for rain Batley required a DLS total of 266. OliverKilburn took 4 wickets in his 12.5 overs and 2 each for Matthew Race & James Wade gave Ossett the 20 points and 3rd place in the table. The 2XI travelled to Altofts who won the toss and elected to bat. An opening partnership of 117 was broken by Leigh Learie, Luke Watson took 2 wickets with Dan Busfield adding another, Altofts took their total to 236-6 off their allotted 43 overs. Unfortunately, even after a captains innings of 67 from Dan Busfield with support from Steve Coulthard 49* & a partnership of 110, Ossett fell 23 runs short of their target. Tonight’s T20 match sees the return of Batley Cricket Club to Queens Terrace.
