Ossett News
Blind Auction: Wakefield Trinity 2023 'Magic Weekend' signed shirt. As a club, Ossett RUFC have been lucky enough to build a great relationship with our neighbours at Thornhill Trojans. On Sunday 26th February, Joel Gibson, one of our friends from Thornhill Trojans who appeared for our 1st XV this season, ran a half marathon from LGI to Thornhill Trojans to try and raise money for one of his current U8’s players. Luke unfortunately needs life changing surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital due to the recent diagnosis of a rare form of craniosynostosis. Luke is a huge part of the U8’s teams at Thornhill, so this has been truly shocking news not just for Joel but for the club as a whole. He will have a long road to recovery following his brain surgery, and we as a club at Ossett want to do all we can to help another member of the rugby family make things a little easier for him and his family. The funds raised from this auction will be greatly appreciated and will go a very long way in aiding Luke on his recovery.
