Ossett News Posted August 20, 2023 Report Share Posted August 20, 2023 🏏🏏🏏 Second match of the weekend for our 2XI and a debut for 12 year old Jack Lamb playing alongside his dad Phil Lamb. Captain Tom Jenkinson won the toss and elected to bowl. The first half of the Dan Busfield show (sponsored by Simon Betty) started in his 2nd over with his 1st wicket, going on to get a ‘Pfieffer’ 12-7-18-5. Junior players yet again made an impact on the game, Olly Whyte (Webmart) chipped in with a couple of wickets & James Stringer took a catch off Busfield’s bowling. Stand in wicket keeper Lee Stevenson (Thornton Jones Solicitors) took 2 catches from the bowling of Tom Jenkinson & Atta Bashir. Truly a team effort which restricted Altofts to 82 all out. After the break the Busfield show continued! 2 quick wickets and a short heavy downpour later, our target was revised to 81 off 43 overs. Olly Whyte 16, Dan Busfield 47* & the winning runs from Tom Jenkinson 12* saw Ossett reach the target in 26.3 overs.
