Ossett News Posted August 27, 2023 Report Share Posted August 27, 2023 🏏🏏🏏Saturday 26/8 Review The 1XI welcomed New Farnley to Queens Terrace, they won the toss and elected to bat. Wickets fell at regular intervals, the best of the bowling came from Archie Houghton (First Choice Recruitment ) 13-0-57-3 New Farnley were all out for 216. The heavens opened during the interval and reduced our innings to 30 overs with a target of 168. Falling short by 62 runs Will Wade ( Virtual Hand - Virtual Business Support ) with 27 was the top scorer. We were dismissed for 105 runs. Ex Ossett player Gurman Randhawa was the top bowler 5.4-1-40-4. The 2XI travelled to Hopton Mills CC, won the toss and elected to bowl. As expected the rain came & reduced the game to a 36 overs match. Hopton Mills lost 7 wickets with a total of 186. Oliver Whyte ( Webmart ) was the pick of the bowlers with 6-1-34-4. Special congratulations go to James Stringer who took his first wicket in a Senior match! After the tea break Ben Coulthard ( Bob Schofield ) 25 & Haseen Bashir 20 made a quick start to overhauling the total set by their opponents. Tom Jenkinson 90* came in with the score at 39-2, he quickly took control and with Jack Lamb 10* holding up the other end they took the score to 185-5.
