Ossett News Posted November 3, 2023 Report Share Posted November 3, 2023 Today, The Leader of Wakefield Council, Cllr Denise Jeffrey has written to Mark Harper - the Secretary of State for Transport - asking him to include a new rail station for Horbury or Ossett in his Network North plans. Cllr Jeffrey's letter is supported by a covering letter from your three local Labour Councillors - Darren, Deb & Gwen and Cllr Olivia Rowley in Ossett has also given her support. Jade Botterill, parliamentary candidate for Ossett & Denby Dale, has also added her support to our request in a separate letter from her office. Funding for our new station could released from the cancelled HS2 project. Our request could be funded, easily and very quickly with Government support.
